I am THRILLED that I ran it under 2 and a half...a first!!!
Stu and me above, and with Dayna below. Those two will be back in Boston in 2014 to finish the race!!
Next: Fall Virtual race hosted by Laura
I used my first 5 miles to warm up during my 25k BLITZ! So using the last 10 miles, I ran 1:33:30 (according to pace from race results online). Actually, I ran 15.70 miles total from race at 9:24, according to Mr. Garmin:)
Lastly, I had a really tough day at school. I had tears in my eyes on the drive home. Why? Because it bothered me that I had to put a child out of the library for his back talk. Now I am a teacher who gives a warning, allowing the student to get it together but this one couldn't. I was livid, and quietly told him to leave. He is only in the third grade.
He came back into the library with my Assist Principal, looked at me with tears in his eyes, and said he was sorry. I told him, "Clean slate, let's get it together and we'll be ok.....no grudges."
He said, "Ok Ms. W., I'll try." And HE DID get it together, because he learned he could trust me. I found out this young boy has an effin' shitty life, and what did he do as he exited the library? He walked over to me, choked up, again, and said, "I really am sorry Ms. W, I promise to try to be better next time. I really think you're pretty cool."
I thought I was going to lose it, but I couldn't because I had another class walking in, and he hugged me and said, "And I mean it." I said, "P, I believe in you...you and I...WE are going to have a great year....all of us have bad days."
I Am Enough.....
Welcome September and Happy New Year still LOCKED out..
