Give a little bit...now's the time we need to share...

So send a smile to show you care...
Supertramp
This song has been playing over and over in my head (Goo Goo Dolls do a nice version too).

What a week. THE Mighty Boston rises from the ashes and boxes like a Ali. This happened because we have super heroes in our city: Police, Fire, SWAT, National Guard, Bomb squads, 9-1-1 operators, drs, nurses, social workers, paramedics, and every day citizens who will not give up or give in.
I'm so sad for our losses and recently, Sean, an MIT officer. Maybe he was one of the few we saw patroling around 77 Mass Ave when we waited for dad??

We're healing. It's going to take time. Bombs are still heard but the sound is softening now...the tears are slowing down too. All we wamted was to see Stu, Dave, Dayna and many others cross that finish line. Give hugs, take pics, go to dinner, have a beer...well guess what? Carmen...if you hear me, I called your name, cheering for you and the Dana Farber team. I'm so sorry;(
Let me wish Kyria, Phyllis, and Heidi a congrats on your finish! You deserve the glory gals!!
And finally, today my race: Stomp Out Child Abuse 5k in Mets stadium in Florida....I placed 1st in my age gp.
26:57...snail's pace but don't care. What a bittersweet ending! It's for me...for Stu....love you bro!

  1. I still cannot believe it happened and still tear up whenever one of my co-workers, students, or friends asks me about it and we weren't even at the race anymore! Scary as hell. I am proud of the first responders for sure and so sad for all of the losses and everyone still in critical condition and all of the victims.
Great running girl! Congrats on your win!

  2. Still the biggest disappointment of the day and not being able to turn onto you Boylston St and not seeing you wave, your friends throw money and flash me, you know the typical Boston finish line ending. I've never had anyone I know be there at the finish line except random strangers. Thank you and your friends.

    Obeservations from the week:
Congrats on the placing...I've never been able to do that, Once I thought I took 3rd place at a 5K and then only to find out a 78 year old man beat me.

Compression shorts at the race? Are you injured or just for more speed?

Is it just me or did the Boston police find what no other man has never found before? That little man in the boat. Ok I went there but I just couldn't help myself...

  3. Thanks Jill! I am glad that you went to Florida after all! We can't let the evil guys win! We must enjoy our lives and not let them get us down!

And PS...Did Dave REALLY just go there? Ha!

  4. Very well said Big sister. Very nice testament to all who ran, and those we lost. I need to find myself one of those pins.
