Bataan, Unc Charlie, DZ and then there's me and my 20

What a weekend....some fun and some somber; tears and laughter.

It's about what my friend Dave did to put it into perspective and seeing dad with tears brought it home. Why we run marathons....why we honor and remember the people we love and lost, and fought for our country.

Dave ran the Bataan Memorial Marathon. After telling him about Uncle Charlie, Dave made sure to honor him and find out his details. Check out the picture. Yes, in a sense, Dave carried Uncle Charie on his back. 

I remember dad telling me that Uncle Charlie walked the death march, that he was beaten and put into a cage. That's all I'll say. Dad was so choked up this weekend and grateful of Dave's action. Thank you so much DZ.

And them there's little ol' me, ran 20 miles today and was bitching about my right foot (which aches because I decided to switch sneakers). Glad that's over.

But the most fun!!!! Lunch and shopping with Cindy and the girls (my brother Stu's family). Of course she had to introduce me to Mr. Carmel Macchiato at Starbuck's. We went to a store called Posh, and I bought a neat bracelet with bluish/gray beads that are textured, and there's an ivory (fake) elephant on it (which represents harmony and peace). I like it (Cindy digs my pants. ( Soul-flower )

I love them too...the hippy chick that I am).

Cindy, Gina, and I are finalizing our Boston Marathon finish line plans. We can't wait.

I'm already emotional as we are being blasted on the news about the build up.

Then again 3 weeks to London is already making ME emotional. It's been a long time.
