Motivation and A Hero

Massachusetts Run for the Fallen 5K. A secret race I ran yesterday, untimed. The heat and humidity was horrible, but my foot held up and I persevered. It was so emotional as they read all of the names and rang the bell. All of their pictures were along the race route. I haven't been to a race by myself since last year's Chicago Marathon, but I was happy and proud to run this in Scott's memory.
In memory of 1LT Scott Milley and other MA soldiers who died after 9/11....his friends and his mom Janice (above). He died in 2010. A lovely young man with a wonderful mom, who I grew up with (and her siblings).

It was held in the Lynnfield Market Place, and that's why you see J. Crew. Many of the surrounding shops donated stuff. The run was in a gorgeous neighborhood that surrounds this outdoor mall area.

My newest favorite "trucker style" hat is sponsored by Raul from #R4TWC (running for those who can't), and how appropriate along with my dad's Army pin.
A great finish to honor one of our own.

On Friday, I ran my virtual race on Nahant in unbelievable heat and humidity. Soaring 10K. This is part of JostRunning which hosts virtual races where the money goes to various charities. I'm loving the FitSnap app! I'm up to 11 races for #14in2014.

My niece Rachel was up for a visit and of course it wouldn't be a visit if we didn't go shopping. We did get those boots but in a weathered dark brown. So cute.
I am wearing the neon yellow #R4TWC hat and my new Winona Oiselle tank. So comfy and wicks nicely (Unstinkable...ok I took that from Lululemon).

I'm going through some changes in my life right now. I'm comfortable in my skin and know where I'm heading. For right now, I'll leave you with this.......
Besides Audrey Hepburn, my other favorite classy lady was Lauren Bacall. I love this saying.....

Cheers.....
