Spatula 5K 10K: completed. Oh...maybe not. Need to check. Next up 13 mile ride for Jelly Bean.
I'm racking up the miles and have no idea how much more to go. The Bad-Ass continues.
What fly? Me? Well maybe I should stick to sailing off into the sunset with my favorite sailing jacket (by Gill). Anyway, I love that song by the Foo Fighters....Learn to Fly (on my Ipod).
For me it means moving on and trying things out of my comfort zone. Take Ballet for instance. What was I thinking? Yet, I did it. It hurt my feet, calves and Achilles OUCH....but I was rock solid and followed gracefully the moves. It helped my posture too! I was strong in the jumps but when you have tight muscles, a plié "ain't gonna' happen! I practiced 2nd position constantly! My shins were burning. But squeeze those thighs and squat...hmmmm.....well that was about it...a mini squat. LOL....LOL. Maybe a Barre class is for me and back to yoga. I think I'll stick to my massages 2x a month.
Water...water...water. Will someone remind me to drink that stuff? I used to be so good about carrying it at all times! It even became a joke at school when I didn't have it in my hands (Marblehead days). I just like the poster. SO, I'm reminding ALL of you.....WATER!
Speaking of water, when the heck am I getting back in the pool? Good question. How can I do a tri if I don't get confident at swimming!! I have dreams of people swimming over me. I think about the day when I almost drowned. I have many friends who want to help, master swimmers. YUP, I'll get on it. Can I wear a lifejacket? Hold a noodle?
A few years back (2010) Nance and I kicked butt at the Harwich Half...We PR'ed 1:52:??
Now it's (2013 - below)....post little miss Aubrey.
No PR but still having fun and enjoying being friends and BRFs! Even though she's my young friend, she's always teaching me stuff and loves me for all of my quirky, crazy stuff. Plus, I'm an honorary auntie to Emma and Aubrey. I wouldn't have it any other way.
It's a week later, and that's how we looked crossing the finish. We were such hams the whole race. Of course, when we saw the cameras I was giving the peace sign and waving.
That's what happens when your dad loves photography as a hobby.
