In the Heat of Training

Time is going by so fast and training continues in the heat. I want to get out at 5am but I am lazy to move. So I'm out the door at 7:30/8am and it's so bloody hot, I want to quit. NO WAY! I run for love and those who can't. I must move!!
I lace up, put sunscreen on, wear my various colorful outfits, hair in pigtails, and put my Garmin on and I wait.......to fly......

I am proud to say that I got a few hoots and whistles this week: "Hey girl...nice legs!" "You are one crazy lady running in this heat!" "Cute butt!"   Welcome to my world.

I won't be flying this weekend at the Narragansett Running Festival in Easton, for the Inaugral 13.1.  Little bro Stu and I will be there, and I'll just trot and keep running. Finish, that's all. I always say that, but you know (Nancy) we'll see how I feel:)

Last weekend was all about Maine.
The Lobster Dash 5k in Scarborough was a blast!  I placed 37/88 and I actually placed 2nd in the 50-59 division. A runner pint glass was the 'medal' (and I happily poured a beer in it once I was home). Then a drive north to Belfast to the arts festival. A favorite town of mine, it is quaint with artsy shops and great small bars along the river. Of course I had a few days to run around town which is hilly I might add! Does that stop moi....nevah!!!
As I say, marathon training must go on because I do have two to run in October! Crazy Lady.

Keep cool everyone and good luck racing this weekend!
And Nancy...we're jumping off the Wharf in August. I will do it and NOT be afraid!! If anyone else wants to take the leap, let me know!
