Hello there!
I'm laying down on the bench in yard recuperating from a late day 2 mile run, after the terrific morning this Spartan had. Warning: A lot of happiness to be found here.
Quiz: Who was Seegar? (Cigar) and from which movie? Stu, you can't answer that since it was you who started it!
OH OH OH, I'm in awe!! (Psyched to see fellow blogger Jen, colleagues Deb and Eric too!)
Anywhoooo........
Anywhoooo........
The Spartan Fenway - I survived; I conquered (with a little help from my teammates) and I had THE best morning traversing Fenway!
Thank you John and Dan for the heave ho up the wall so I could get over it! My inner thighs and knees are bruised from wacking the wall but who cares??? It's a great soreness! John was right with me for ALL of the wall climbs because he knew I was anxious about that. Lugging the jugs and the weighted sand bags...no problem. I learned though that upper body strength is important. Next year, I'll certainly be training differently.
I did a lot burpees because I passed on (rope climb and money bars) or couldn't complete some obstacles, but big deal. I was so happy to be there. I modified the burpees in the end! Hahaha!
We were on a tour of the great Fenway Park, up and down the stands, bleachers, in the dugouts, locker room, tunnels....I can't say enough about it.
It truly was a blast and I have to give a HUGE shout out to our team Capt the true beast, John.
So here's the scoop on our team:
The Beasts: John, Dan, Evan, Carolyn (trifecta gal and she's unbelievable!!)
On Their Way to Beasthood: my bro Stuart and cousin Louis (wearing Go Pro)
Beginner Beast: Sid
Just a Pip Squeak Spartan: Moi!

My favorite guys (below), Stu with Eric and Louis. We are so lucky to be close and to have them at Fenway with Sally, Laura, and Rob cheering us on. Laura took the pics and I thank her! She's in the middle of studying for a big exam as she goes for her MS in Exercise Physiology. Yet she cheered us on and took the pics.

Seriously a great team and Carolyn gave me some great tips! I think this was a walk in the park for her.
Evan does this course at his job at Reebok/Adidas corp. How fantastic is that to have a course at the tip of your fingers at your job. So jealous!!Dan, YOU are one tough cookie. Ex-Army and great team spirit. Thank you!!
Family....priceless....M and M....you'd be proud:)
Laura, Lou, and Rob....Eric and Sally too!
You are one tough chick!!

ReplyDeleteSo pissed I didn't do this....
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a lot of fun..I was wondering how they had enough room for it; I didn't realize they would do it in the locker rooms etc!
