Through snow, ice, sleet, high winds.
Through tears, laughter, some pain, trippingon the street, dodging cars, and a lot of moaning and groaning....smiles and high fives, waving (and no waves).....
With chit chat and hilarious laughter (Nancy) and songs, whistling, yelling at cars, getting honked at, getting the finger, almost hit and A LOT of cheering.
Hills hills and hills. New friends old friends and lots of tricep dips and some planking......London is at my doorstep.
What I've dreamed about for years to run those streets. Click on Union Jack heart on sidebar if interested in the marathon site.
Dress rehearsal:
My Nahant 30K shirt under the AICR tank (need to show off USA) and white long sleeves optional; pigtail braids; Boston Marathon 2013 hat (borrowing from niece Rachel); and my 2002 Boston Marathon jacket; black capris; orange Saucony's and socks TBD.
It's a week of excitement to come and anxiety. Nancy has been there with me every step of the way. We understand what running means, the dedication and the heart aches and the glory and why we love it so much.
